Sweeping the week at Bristol Motor Speedway for the second time of his career, Kyle Busch has one victory missing from the equation that many of his “haters” don’t hesitate to point out. Despite winning at Bristol in all three of NASCAR’s top divisions, Busch hasn’t found victory in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at Bristol which has been a staple of the August weekend since its inception in 2009.

“I’m not allowed to.” Busch told OnPitRoad.com following the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race in the Media Center. Earlier this year at Indianapolis, Busch told Media he had a ride lined up for the Indianapolis 500 but when it came down to it he wasn’t allowed to race to which put an immediate halt to him pulling double duty and it has apparently also stopped him from pulling the quadruple at Bristol.

In over 900 starts in among all NASCAR Series, Busch has never made a start in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Series. Despite the heat Busch would get for winning the Whelen Modified Tour race at Bristol, it would be quite impressive. On Saturday Night, Busch completed his 450th start in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series with his 40th career victory, tying him with NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin with all time victories.
