  1. What’s next for Roush-Fenway? Closing Time!
Ricky Stenhouse’s time in the Cup Series is a bust and Trevor Bayne can live off of a Daytona 500 win for only so long.

It is a sinking ship and the lifeboats have left, Penske is THE Ford team now and Jack needs to realize it…it is over.

    1. Hi Jeff, thanks for reading! Do you think SHR can quickly become another competitive Ford team?

      1. I do think SHR will very competitive right out of the box. They have the talent in three of the four drivers but and more importantly they have the money resources to get things done.

RFR doesn’t and proof of that is that they down sized, leased a charter and are paying a driver to pilot a Chevrolet.

        1. I think Jeff just hit the nail dead on the head. Well said sir. SHR will be just fine, and I think they will prove to be a nice fit for Ford, essentially filling the void left by the lagging RFR. I don’t even envision much of a “breaking in” period for SHR, I’d almost bet they start bringing the heat right out of the box.

          1. I agree Mike. I expect SHR to be fast from the drop of the green in Daytona and a threat for the championship.

        2. I agree with you 100%. I believe the reason Ford wanted SHR is because they have proven they can get the job done. It will be Penske and SHR carrying the flag for Ford in 2017.

  2. The blame for this should be laid right at the feet of the Fenway Group. Ever since they became part of this equation. Money was never really an object- winning was the standard… but when they came in… money became a big object. Right after they came in, it was a slow downhill run and its been in free fall from 2014. Steve Newmark should be the one to go, in an interview he said that he started to notice that they were behind in the middle of 2015- when everyone else saw it close to a year earlier.

    1. Thank for you reading SDS, and for sharing your thoughts. There may be something to your scenario. I seriously doubt that it is by coincidence that the decline started shortly after Fenway came on-board.

  3. I don’t think Rousch will ever again be a powerhouse team. They may pull off the occasional win but that’s about it.

  4. What I don’t understand, why Roush/Yates engines. Just Yates. Jack has gone to seed. I think he likes young boys.
