Sheldon Creed will lead the field to green in tonight’s Crosley Brands 150 at Kentucky Speedway alongside MDM Motorsports teammate Zane Smith. The pole was just the third part of a strong week at Kentucky as Creed was fastest in the open test on Wednesday and in the practice session earlier this afternoon. Piloting the No. 28 United Rentals Toyota Camry, Creed earned his first career pole in his 16th attempt.

“We have a really good car…I could drive it to its limits today,” said Creed in the ARCA release. “Our long-run speed is good too…we’re strong overall. We’ll see what happens in the race. I’m feeling really good about it.”

“It’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out tonight. We’re going to have to deal with lapped traffic so you’re going to have to go up there in the gray. Hope we catch the lapped cars at good points on the track. I like when the groove goes up so hopefully that second lane will come in.”

Creed was just .04 seconds off of Chase Briscoes’ one-lap track record that he set last year with a lap at 29.301 seconds. With the repave, General Tire brought a harder compound to accommodate to the new surface.

Ty Majeski will start third followed by Cole Rouse and Dalton Sargeant. ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards points leader Austin Theriault qualified 12th.
