NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie, Kyle Larson, was fastest in first practice on Friday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Larson turned a lap of 168.908 MPH. Championship contender, Sam Hornish was fourth fastest with a lap of 167.848 MPH. The current points leader, Austin Dillon turned in a lap of 166.590 MPH placing him 14th fastest overall. Dillon currently leads Hornish by just eight points – the closest points battle among NASCAR’s national series.
