After coming off of pit road in second spot, Jamie McMurray would battle hard beside Carl Edwards for the first few laps of the final segment before grabbing the lead and pulling away. McMurray then led the final seven laps as he scored his first carer Sprint All-Star Race victory.

“Awesome job by our pit crew at the end. I’m really proud of our whole team,” McMurray said. “Keith called a really good race and got us in the position that we needed. I can’t believe that I’m here right now.”

McMurray was fast all night as he led laps throughout the night, though had the speed at the end when it counted.

Kevin Harvick had the best average finish across the four segments, though came up short as he came off pit road third and ended up finishing second behind McMurray.

“We recovered from the first bad pit stop and then didn’t recover from the second bad pit stop,” he said. “I’m proud of my guys for supplying a fast car but not happy with pit road.”

Matt Kenseth would make his way to finish third before the flag, ahead of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and pole sitter Carl Edwards.

“We fought tight all night and they made the car a little better at the end, but we were still driving hard on the tire all through the corner,” Earnhardt Jr. commented. “We need to work a little bit and get a little bit better.”

Unfortunately, the all-star race didn’t go as planned for some drivers as they found trouble along the way.

Kyle Busch won the first segment, though would wreck in the second segment after getting into Clint Bowyer and collected Joey Logano in the process. A.J. Allmendinger, who transferred into the all-star after finishing second in the Showdown, would get wrecked on the backstretch by Brian Vickers.

Jeff Gordon, Martin Truex Jr. and Greg Biffle suffered similar fate as they would wreck together in the fourth segment. Kasey Kahne and Ryan Newman also found the wall multiple times, resulting in damage that regulated both of their performances.
