Pocono 400 is going to be costly for some teams

The green flag dropped and the cars took off for turn 1. Joey Logano and Carl Edwards even bumped into turn 1 and by the end of the 1st lap, Landon Cassill, Martin Truex Jr, and Juan Paublo Montoya all had issues with Landon Cassill withdrawing from the race after only one lap with a very torn-up race car.

Jeff Gordon ran into the dirt on the back stretch at lap 22 and got dirt into his radiator spiking his water temps.

hard to tell if it is the new track surface or the shortened length of the race, but this is certainly a very racy Pocono. We have seen a wreck on the first lap, which is an improvement over the ARCA race that had a caution on the pace lap. We have had a slew of penalties. By the 48th lap, there were 27 penalties against 25 drivers. The 51 was penalized by lap 100 4 times.

Jeff Gordon said that if they put down any more speedy dry, we are going to have to run dirt tires on this track. Jeff Gordon had his own issues with running into the dirt on the back stretch and a speeding penalty on pit road.

Joey Logano hit one of his crew members as he was leaving pit road, so just about everything has happened on this race except for hitting digger on the back stretch.

With just 20 laps to go, Kasey Kahne just hit the outside wall and when he pulled into the garage, it caught fire. Now we are about to go green with 18 laps to go.
