Sprint Cup Series Darlington Picks

Assistant Editor Ashley McCubbin chose Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon. Kyle Busch struggled mid-race with multiple trips into the wall, but his crew worked hard so he could finish sixth. Despite qualifying 26th, Jimmie Johnson worked his way through the field to race winning contention and finished third. Jeff Gordon was solidly in the top five throughout the night before slipping to seventh at the end. Points:38+42+38=118

Journalist Tayler Stiles chose Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin. Matt Kenseth ran solidly inside the top 10 throughout the night before finishing fourth. Denny Hamlin struggled despite a solid qualifying effort on his way to finishing 19th. Points:42+41+26=109

Photographer Ronald Costigan chose Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson. Dale Earnhardt Jr. ran inside the top five throughout the night and came close to winning and could’ve had it if not for the final caution of the race. Instead, Earnhardt Jr. finished second. Points: 41+43+42=126

Journalist Marshall Gabell chose Matt Kenseth, Denny Hamlin and Kasey Kahne. Kasey Kahne led numerous laps, though saw his night come to an early end when he made hard contact with the wall on his way to finishing 37th. Points:41+26+8=75

Fan #1 Terry Wagner chose Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson and Greg Biffle. Biffle led some laps using a two-tire pit strategy and managed to stay up front with that strategy on his way to finishing fifth. Points: 38+42+40=120
